The major stages of medical development are presented from far to near. Elements of basic medical research and related clinical applications are involved in the rotating time-space tunnel composed of green plants, reflecting the development and integration of basic research and clinical applications. Each time when we use a research discovery to strengthen medicine, our weapons are leveled up to better protect the dignity of life. There are also human, animal and environmental elements in the time tunnel, reflecting that animal health, human health and environmental health are mutually linked and interdependent, illustrating the concept of One Health. As we know, the animals are the original or intermediate hosts of many human infectious diseases, and environmental change has a major impact on human health. In front of science, we are all children full of curiosity. By applying innovative scientific advances to clinical applications, we could live in harmony and see a healthier and happier future.
